1. The key will not enter fully
Stop if a key blade is bent, cracked or visibly damaged. Tell us whether another working key enters normally and whether anything appears to obstruct the keyway. Do not push fragments farther into the cylinder or add glue to a broken piece.
2. The key enters but resists turning
Describe whether the trouble is intermittent and whether a second key behaves differently. Steering-wheel tension, key wear and cylinder wear can feel similar from the driver's seat. Avoid pliers or extra leverage; forcing a key can cause another failure.
3. The key turns but will not come out
Tell us whether the vehicle is in its normal parked state and what position the key reaches. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's operating instructions, and do not dismantle the ignition assembly to release it. The vehicle model and symptoms help determine the relevant service.
4. The key spins without the expected action
Free movement can indicate a different issue from a key that binds. Explain whether the lock appears to engage at any position and whether the vehicle recognizes an electronic key. Mechanical motion does not establish that the starting system is working.
5. The key turns normally but the engine does not start
A no-start condition can involve a battery, starter, engine or other system outside locksmith work. Report dashboard messages and whether a known working key changes the result. Call Payless Locksmith Inc at 561-797-8622 with the make, model, year and exact symptoms to discuss supported key or ignition work. Our shop is at 905 Federal Hwy, Unit i, Lake Park, FL 33403. Some problems will require a mechanic rather than an ignition-key repair.
