A spare key starts with a reliable original.
A working spare can prevent an ordinary lost key from turning into a lockout. Our Lake Park shop can discuss supported house, business and vehicle key types. Call before visiting if you have an unusual blank, a restricted key or an electronic vehicle key.
What we consider before the work
Bring the best working original available. A copy made from a worn or inaccurate key can repeat its faults. Tell us if the original needs jiggling, binds in the cylinder or has a crack; the lock itself may also need inspection.
Prepare for your call or visit
Test a new spare with the door open before depending on it as your only key. Keep a record of who holds property keys, and avoid attaching a complete home address to a key ring.
Can any key be duplicated?
No. Blank availability, key condition, authorization and restricted systems affect what can be copied. Vehicle starting functions may require separate programming.
